This week I’m giving some insight into my NEW ORGANISATIONAL SYSTEM for managing this album project:
Does anyone else still use a Filofax or Filofax-adjacent planner these days?
things i liked
✶ I’ve been working a bit more on the album artwork this week, and have stumbled across some good visual inspo. Peter Beard’s diaries in particular have been fuelling me this week:
✶ Barbie genuinely gut-punched me emotionally and I sat and cried through the credits!!! I mean, it was also great. Really funny, snappy, I love Ken (he’s just Ken), insightful and joyful to watch. I dance around my room to the “can you feel the Kenergy?” sequence whenever I can, and it restores my soul. Can’t wait to go back and watch it again soon.
✶ I don’t know if you remember, but 1000 years ago (see: 450 days ago) I downloaded an app on my phone which tracks your steps and tells you where you’d be if you were Frodo walking to Mordor. I am very happy to say that, way after my friends who have Apple Watches, I have finally thrown the ring into Mount Doom! finished LOTR walk!
✶ Bookhouse Broad and fellow chaos Substacker Meg and I have been on a musical deep dive of the much-beloved/bemoaned fantasy romance series, A Court of Thorns and Roses. I have spent the better part of the last 24 hours trying to create a well-balanced, emotional, non-cheesy Spotify playlist (listen here) which encompasses a three-book storyline. It’s been going like this:
There are also the bonus playlists for characters Tamlin and Rhysand, which are available upon request.
That’s all for today! As per usual, if you want to support this project directly, you can do so by doing any of the following:
buying a ‘Gneiss Guy’ tote bag on my Bandcamp
listening to my music on Spotify and adding it to your playlists
forwarding this newsletter to a friend!
and if you haven’t already, subscribe:
Til next time! Be good,

I love a behind the scenes post! (And the fact that there’s a walking to Mordor app. And deranged ACOTAR playlists. Especially those.)
